Own your Own Piece of Ford History -- Check Out the Workhorse 2018 Ford F-150 Here in Troy, MI Today!

Without question, it's one of the best-selling full-size trucks in the US and the world over, just as it has been since its 1975 debut, and it's quite the illustrious past that brought it this far.

The Ford F-150 was the ideal balance of utility and fuel economy that few light-duty pickups could match right from the get-go. Better still, 1998 to 2014 saw advancements in everything from efficiency to capability, with the late 1990s taking the turn for the enhanced design aerodynamics that are now a mainstay across the lineup. Into 2009 prowled the brawny F-150 Raptor, built for extreme off-roading, and through 2010, powerful V8 were engines were offered, joined in 2011 by a twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 to add some driving spirit.

Today, the current 2018 Ford F-150 remains one of the most adaptable and customizable haulers around, in regular cab, extended cab, and four-door SuperCrew configurations and sporting several bed options. That's owed in part to a heat-treated and hardened body, comprised of high-strength, military-grade aluminum-alloy and to the high-grade 6000-series specs used in military and heavy industrial applications. It's also due to a fully boxed frame of 78-percent-high-strength steel that's nearly 700 pounds lighter than generations before. But most of all, it's chalked up to five of the most innovative powertrains in the storied history of full-size pickups.

  • One, an available 395-horsepower, 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8, with best-in-class support for payloads up to 3,270 pounds
  • Second, a 375-horsepower, 3.5-liter EcoBoost® that can lug up to 13,200 pounds, both capabilities rated at the top of the class and great for taking along on your trip anything from a couple of off-road vehicles or dirt bikes to a small camper
  • Next, a 250-horsepower, 3.0-liter Power Stroke® diesel shelling out a class-leading 440 pound-feet of torque
  • Further, a time-tested, tried, and found-true second-generation 375-horsepower, 3.5-liter EcoBoost, brand-new from the 2017 model year
  • Finally, an optional enhanced 325-horsepower, 2.7-liter EcoBoost that the pros at Car and Driver magazine call one of their ten favorite engines

You can bet the new 2018 F-150 is the safe course to take, too. It's a stable, sturdy ride, for one, thanks to a standard AdvanceTrac® system with RSC®, or Roll Stability Control&#trade;, as well as curve control. Moreover, driver-assist options range from lane-keeping and blind-spot information systems with cross-traffic alert to adaptive cruise control with stop and go and, a pre-collision assist system with pedestrian detection, and more, helping to keep you not only in the loop on your surroundings but also clear of accidents.

Ditto that the new F-150 is the choice for construction workers, project managers, and tradespeople looking for an expertly equipped mobile office. To put control of your entertainment and mobile device connectivity alike within reach, you can find available SYNC® 3 infotainment and an optional 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot for Web connection. There's also voice activation support for available navigation and mobile apps to streamline it, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility available for connecting a smartphone. Managing it all remotely is easier than ever, too, using the FordPass app.
